Another long car trip to Heaven

After a nice breakfast we hit the road again. First stop was practically around the corner. We visited the Doolin Cave in Doolin. Doolin Cave is home to the great stalactite, which is 23 feet long, hanging from the ceiling and weighs about 10 tons. We had to climb down 120 stairs. Walk a narrow path until we reached it.
The two students who found it in the 50’s crawled a small passage for two and half hours before the reached the stalactite. Unbelievable.
From there we went on to the Caherconnell Fort. We had hoped to see a sheep dog at work, unfortunately we were too late and the next showing would have been at 4:00 pm. We had planned on reaching our destination at 5:00 pm so that was out of the question.
It was an almost three hour drive, but when we reached our hotel I knew that somewhere along the line we did something right. We were warmly received at Loch Lein and had tea served to us in the garden.
We have a room with a view. The room is spacious as well as the bathroom. I can’t wait to see what breakfast will be like.
That’s it for today . Probably more from the Ring of Kerry!
