Today was our longest drive down to Aberdeen. But let’s start at the beginning. Our night at Strathmoy B&B was excellent. The room was spacious but cozy. Just perfect and has us wanting to come back. The eggs fresh from the chickens outside.

Before we left we had an interesting conversation with Wendy the owner. We first headed food the village to Boots to buy an anti-histamine cream for Eri as the Midges bites were itching. We then drove on to the „Culloden Battlefield“. Trying to understand and comprehend the differences between the Scots and the English. We walked over the fields and tried to grasp what happened here 273 years ago. Near the end a bagpipe player showed up.

From there we did a quick stop at the Clava Cairns, a Bronze Age cemetery starting at 2000 BC making them over 4000 years old.

Our drive was now about 3 hours. Karsten’s goal was the Maritime Museum in Aberdeen which closes at 5pm. On the way our Nat Sav gave up, was confused, no idea. A switch to a mobile phone and Google Maps took us to a back road where a deer actually crossed a road.

Driving through Aberdeen is a bit stressful as there are many oneway streets. Parking is expensive. We paid 7.50£ for just over an hour of parking. We found our hotel and the parking that belongs to it. Tight, extremely tight but Karsten fitted our car in.

Today Eric choose our dinner. Flippin Cheese. So much cheese that we rolled back to the hotel.
