On the road again

We wake up every morning without an alarm clock. There is no rush or looking at the time. But some how we always manage to leave our hotel/B&B at 10:00 am.
We left after another great breakfast for the Cliffs of Moher. I personally could have stayed longer but alas we only have a certain amount of vacation.
Once on the road we discussed when would be a good time for a break. After about half an hour we had our first break. We saw a sign for the Glengowla Mine passed it, decided yes, did a U- turn and were rewarded with new impressions. The mining history was interesting, but what was more interesting was the fact that the area was a filming location. A Western is being filmed there and we oops took a wrong turn on the nature path. We didn’t want to over do it, but Karsten took a picture of the scenery and we scooted back to the original path.
We continued on, more or less hungry as we had spent nearly two hours in Glendowla. (Mustn’t forget to mention we also did some gold panning).
A short stop in Galway at Dunnes to stock up on cheese and whiskey. On to Kinvara where we had lunch. We continued on to yet another unplanned stop. A roadside store selling souvenirs and woolen wear. Finally I got into the car with an Irish poncho! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!
We finally arrived at the Cliffs of Moher at 5:00 pm. Four hours after what we had originally planned.
But I guess it was supposed to be that way. According to my travel companion „The Photographer“, the lighting was perfect. Eric renamed the walking path I was on the Mo(t)hers path. I preferred walking on the designated path and not the one that the public tends to choose. The one going along the edge of the cliffs. I admit I am afraid of heights. So the Cliffs were more than just overwhelming for me.
So here we are in Lahinch/Lehinch for one night before we head for Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.
Good night!
