Keswick and the trip to Loch Lomond

The drive from York over to the Lake District was long and uneventful. We have heard a lot about the Lake District but the time was too short to discover the area more intensely. What we did discover was a brand new distillery, The Lake Distillery. Their main plan is to make whisky but until a whisky is a whisky you need to wait three years. So they also destill gin and vodka.

After the tour we had a tasting and bought a gin. Dinner was again delightful and after this vacation I need to eat less.

Today we crossed the border to Scotland. Coming from England the directions to Glasgow’s city center was not easy to follow. We somehow missed the exit and turned around. All of the sudden there was a sign to the city center every couple of meters. We parked our car at the Glasgow Cathedral but there was a service ongoing so we headed downtown. Even though it is a Sunday a lot of shops were open.

Before heading back to the car we were able to go to the cathedral and were surprised by the size of what was below the church. The drive to our B&B didn’t take that long. But it is at the moment a disappointment.

Tomorrow we have the whole day to discover the Lochs.
