Mosquitos and scorpions

Datça, Turkey

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we thought we might drive up to Marmaris, but that would have been a 1,5 hour drive one way. Since we were invited for coffee and cake in the early afternoon we decided against it. Then we thought we might drive into the town of Datça. We finally agreed on Knidos. We were in Knidos 10 years ago when Eric was three. A lot has been done since then, but now we were able to see much more as Eric was now on his own feet. It was really fascinating and the old harbor absolutely beautiful with the green and turquoise colored water. The ride back had me holding on for dear life, as the cliffs down were on my side of the car. The roads are narrow and extremely winding. But we made it back.

Some impressions of Knidos…
