Two years ago we ignored Sanibel Island, but today we decided to give it another go. We came to the conclusion if we have to pay a lot of money for beach access, then it has to be for Lover’s Key. Of course being a Sunday and school starting here tomorrow,the beach was full, also the water was full of boats. Then we waded forever to get into water deep enough to swim, all the while stepping on prickly things. Turned out that we were constantly stepping on sand dollars. Just yesterday we learned that it is forbidden to take them from the beach. In Lovers Key we didn’t find a single sand dollar and here there were hundreds of them. Then Karsten found some sea urchins, that really spoiled it. Stepping on one of them would probably spoil the last days of our vacation. A few hours at the beach are actually quite tiring, so we headed back home had an early dinner and then headed out to Pine Island to catch a sunset as the skies were very clear tonight
