This morning all three of us had french toast for breakfast. I guess back home I’ll be cooking up some for breakfast too.

We left for Slieve League, but not before stopping at Lidl to pick up some muesli. It does’t really feel like vacation or if you’re in another country when you have the same stores as in Germany.

The drive wasn’t long, we drove through Killybegs, Irlands Fish Port. Then it started to rain. We followed our B&B’s owner advice and and drove past the first parking lot. Driving up to the second parking lot had me gripping the car seat. As we are driving on the other side of the road, I had the view down. Down the cliffs of course. Once we reached the parking lot I very slowly loosened my grip. Of course Karsten and Eric thought it was a fun ride. We put on our rain gear and it stopped raining. Our walk up was easier than I had assumed. Looking up it looked as if the people were walking up the mountain, but getting closer we saw that stone slabs were placed as steps. While climbing up, a helicopter kept flying around the top. It flew around with a white bag hanging at the bottom. It dropped the bag off and came back a few minutes later. Same procedure.
When we reached the first top level we found out that the path further on was closed ( One Mans Path) due to construction. The bags contained rocks (HUGE) and sand for continuing the pathway.
Some tourists/hikers were extremely upset that they couldn’t go on. But it is understandable that the workers don’t want to work up there in the winter.

We walked back down and took a small hike to another peninsula. There Karsten was captivated by the flight of the seagulls. While we were skirting around sheep droppings, he was taking hundreds of pictures of seagulls(it felt like it). When we got into the car, guess what happened?! It started raining.

We then drove back to Donegal as tonight we plan to go to the Abbey Hotel for seafood and traditional Irish music. Our food stop was in Killybegs. We had coffee and cake. No calories 😉
At least mine didn’t. I had a carrot cake, Karsten had something that tasted like a gigantic
Snickers bar and Erics chocolate fudge should have put a few hundred grams on the scale.
