A whole lot of history……..

Dundalk, Ireland
We didn’t get to bed quite as early as planned. We needed a couple of hours to get our 3 mobile account set up, but finally we got it running so that in urgent cases we have internet.
After our Irish breakfast this morning we had to pick up our car out of the carpark, which was actually almost across the street, but too far to drag the suitcases over. It was also not just: drive out and over. No it was take a left, left, left. But if you take the wrong left, you end up getting a short tour of Dublins downtown. Then of course all of this on the left side of the road with early morning traffic. Somebody had frayed nerves.
Finally we had the car packed and were heading off to Uisneach where we had an appointment for 10:15. We arrived at 10:30 and had private tour with Marty. WOW! So much history, so many details. I can’t find the words to say how wonderful the three hours were spent in Uisneach.
For anybody who loves Ireland and it’s rich history this is a must.
Go raibh céad míle maith agat!!
From Uisneach we headed for the Hill of Tara and this time we stayed dry. We were able to wander around and touch the Lia Fáil, which unfortunately did not utter a sound.
From there on we headed for our next overnight stay: the Krakow B&B in Dundalk. Again driving through a lot of traffic had us arriving at quarter past six.
Our landlady was so kind to drive is into town where we had dinner at The Jockey. We then walked back and now it’s 10:10 pm and I am sooooo exhausted.
Tomorrow morning we’re off to Belfast.
