Waking up to the call of seagulls we got up early. Seagulls in the middle of London? It reminds me a bit of Hamburg.
We all managed to keep the floor in the bathroom dry but came to the conclusion that we can only handle two nights in this hotel. It is definitely too small for three people.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special but not enough to last for hours. We set off to get on the Grayline „Hop on, Hop off“ bus. First stop was Madame Tussauds. That was blast. We took a lot of pictures with us and famous people such as Meghan, Harry, Benedict Cumberbatch, Barack Obama, The Queen of England, Captain Marvel, Hulk and many more.
Next stop was Trafalgar Square where we made a quick stop at the National Museum of Art. Seeing paintings from Monet, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Renoir was fascinating.
After a bit of indecisiveness we bought tickets for the Tower of London, just in time for the last tour with a Yeoman Warder a.k.a Beefeater. It was fun, educational and entertaining. We then stood in line to see the Crown Jewels. Photography was strictly prohibited. So we’re just taking home the impression. At the moment I can’t find the words to describe what we saw. Especially the punch bowl made of gold that looked like a bathtub.
For dinner we stopped at „The Red Lion“ where our waitress came from Munich. Karsten and I had a yummy portion of Fish & Chips.
From there we headed to Westminster where we had our reservation for the London Eye. What a way to end our day in London.
