Our vacation starts

Harsefeld, Deutschland

Getting up at 3:00 am is not nice, but the highway to the airport was empty. Checking in with Air Berlin was a new experience, but not quite positively. All information that we had keyed in for the online check in was irrelevant, we had to give them the complete information again. Arriving in Düsseldorf was no problem, up in the air and back down again. We had a 2.5 hour layover so we were able to fill our stomachs with a decent breakfast. Air Berlin had another check in surprise for us. Not only did we have to prove that we have a return ticket, but all information that was keyed in to the system was repeated again. This led to a long delay at boarding time. We took off an hour later. Out 10 hour flight to Miami was uneventful. Airplane food as always blah, in flight entertainment had everyone of us watching what they wanted (finally, finally watched P.S I love you, and oh the Irish scenery……) Arriving in Miami was hassle free, immigration was quicker than ever before, our luggage was also there so we headed off to pick up our Alamo rental car. Even that was a cinch. Not even 15 minutes and we had our jeep loaded and headed off to Cape Coral. But alas not everything was easy. We needed over an hour to reach Alligator Alley. The I-75 North was one huge traffic jam which caused us to travel an extra hour. We finally arrived in Cape Coral at 7:30 pm local time. We were so exhausted we headed straight for our beds. No travel pics today!
