We arrived in Gatwick and everything was fine. The first thing we did was search for the luggage drop off as we planned to leave the two big suitcase at the airport and not take them downtown with us.

Next step getting from Victoria Station to Paddington. Quick calculation: Uber is cheaper for 3 people than taking another train. So we ordered an Uber transportation, the first failing due to inaccurate GPS data, the second was a hit and we learned a lot about the antics of Uber.

We arrived at our hotel. The „Royal Cambridge Hotel“. First impression :It’s clean, next impression: it’s very,very tiny. The room is hot and stuffy and small.

We took a short nap and headed off. Looking for Paddington Bear. We didn’t find him. We did find Isambard Brunel. Then we headed for what we assume is downtown London. We managed to book Madame Tussaud for tomorrow and cash in our voucher for the London Eye. We stopped twice at Fountain Abbey. Once for a fantastic late lunch and then on our way back for a nightcap.
