First day of full class

First day of full class
Boston, MA

Well I did manage to sleep a bit longer, but was up early enough to go through the material for today. At least I tried. Economics…… not my favorite subject. Luckily we had the information that instead of starting at 8:30 we were to start at 9:00. So we headed off for breakfast at 8:15 and then off to our classroom.

The professor was pretty nice, introduced himself and it was actually quite interesting. But it sure is a long day sitting there and listening to someone talk. But what made me happy was that he explained quite well why things don’t function in Washington like everybody thinks it should. Most of his arguments are the same that I use back in Germany too. But to get this down would be too political and probably boring to some. In the end we ended class a bit earlier because the weather was really nice today and tomorrow it’s supposed to rain.

From today until Thursday is the Scooper Bowl. Our tour driver told us about it yesterday and when in Boston do as the Bostonians do. What is the scooper bowl? Well for 10$ you can have all you can eat ice cream with 36 different flavors to choose from. I won’t mention how much I ate, but the 10$ are for a good cause, the money doesn’t go to the ice cream companies but towards the Jimmy Fund.

We finished the day off with a beer, again hopelessly looking for a bar that carries Stella Artois, since that is our case study. Thankfully in bars that have wi-fi I can download my emails as for some reason the university has blocked Outlook and iphone mails. So at 8:00 we all found out that our professor that we will have tomorrow posted what we should look at. He actually expected us to print out his ppts. Duh. I hadn’t planned on carrying a tree on the plane. I printed out enough of the working papers, but the presentation????? So we were all a bit p…. and are curious to see how the day will go tomorrow.
